LibreDigital Expands Executive Management Team to Support Growing Demand for e-Books

AUSTIN, Texas – May 20, 2010 – LibreDigital, Inc. today announced the addition of three new members to its executive management team. Publishing industry veteran and former CourseSmart executive Frank Lyman will serve as the company’s new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). In addition, LibreDigital announced the promotions of Albert Lopez to the position of Vice President of Corporate Development and Rob Beauchamp to the position of Vice President of Product Management. The executive appointments coincide with the company’s recently closed $8.1 million Series C funding round.

In his new role as CMO, Frank Lyman will oversee strategic marketing, product marketing and product management at LibreDigital. Most recently, Frank was Executive Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at CourseSmart, a company that pioneered the digital delivery of textbooks. Before CourseSmart, Frank spent eight years in senior marketing, technology development and general management positions at John Wiley & Sons, where he was instrumental in the early development of Wiley’s well-respected WileyPLUS platform now used by millions of students worldwide. Previously, he served as Vice President of Marketing of LifeMinders.com, and as an Assistant Brand Manager at Procter & Gamble. Frank began his career in sales, marketing and editorial roles at Prentice Hall and John Wiley & Sons.
Albert Lopez has 20 years experience as a technology executive. As Vice President of Corporate Development at LibreDigital, his responsibilities include strategic planning, business development, acquisitions, strategic partnerships and technical solution consulting. Before joining LibreDigital, Albert helped lead two companies through the IPO process and was a key member of executive teams that raised more than $50 million in venture capital/private financing and more than $150M in initial or secondary public offerings. Albert also served as Vice President of Worldwide Marketing and Channel Sales for Procera networks, a developer of network appliances for the telecommunications industry, where he drove 300 percent growth in sales revenue. He has held executive positions at leading software companies, including Oracle, Taleo, US Web, MS2 (now Agile Software), and AdFlight.
As Vice President of Product Management, Rob Beauchamp is responsible for driving the advancement of the LibreDigital platform to help publishers sell and deliver content to digital consumers. Previously, Rob was the Senior Director of Product Management, Software Infrastructure, at Sun Microsystems where he was responsible for driving the creation of a best-of-breed open-source middleware platform based on the enterprise Java standard. He also served as the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at United Devices. Rob founded Journee Software, which was acquired by Initiate Systems, a company that is owned by IBM.
