Aggregators

Within the LibreDigital Internet Digital Warehouse for Publishers (LDW), the digital warehouse operations assume that content will be requested from a variety of requestors.  Among those are Aggregators, outlets or distribution companies to whom Publishers will want to push their digital eBooks, Audiobooks and video clips.

Fortunately, the LDW was build form the ground up to accommodate Aggregators.  This is accomplished through the intelligence in how DataPipe was programmed.  DataPipe provides a robust, highly customizable interface for accessing warehoused books and book components. In conjunction with the Rights & Permissions system, it allows publishers to grant access to authorized partners – e.g. web-based booksellers, libraries, etc. Publishers can easily add partners to the LDW which essentially opens that channel of commerce to them.  What’s more, the LDW makes it far easier for a Publisher to add and manage a large number of partners or Aggregators.  This facilitates creating an ever-expanding marketplace for one’s titles.

Give them what they want, how they want it!

Another benefit in how DataPipe makes is easy to add and manage Aggregators is how easy and well-documented its interface is.  Most aggregators will have specific requirements for how they interface with the LDW and DataPipe is flexible and accommodating.

The LDW itself is designed to “digitize once, render endlessly”, meaning that Publishers are not required to support and warehouse an endless number of formats. Content is therefore streamlined and easy to vend. The LDW also supports and recognizes subsets of content, such as a BookBrowse preview, widgets, audio snippets, etc. Aggregators appreciate the flexibility of the LDW as it empowers many new book and content marketing initiatives.
